Topsail Island & Coastal Carolina

AM RADIO: Pender County operates a series of low-powered AM radio transmitters to broadcast local emergency information. In the Surf City area, tune an AM radio receiver to 1620 Khz and in the Hampstead area tune to 1640 Khz for all local disaster announcements and information.

NOAA WEATHER RADIO Localized disaster information can also be heard on NOAA Weather Radio Pender County - 162.550 MHz (S.A.M.E. Code = 037141); Onslow County - 162.400 (SAME = 037133)

The Town of Surf City has established an early warning and disaster information program to inform residents and business owners via automated telephone messages. Surf City residents and business owners are encouraged to sign up for this free service.
